Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute is expected in the North West Region tomorrow for a peace mission. Dion Ngute is due to meet with elites of the crisis-hit region — and to evaluate progress made, two years after the Major National Dialogue, MND held to resolve the Anglophone conflict.



A faction of Anglophone Separatists has imposed a four-day partial lockdown in the North West Region from October 5 to October 8. They say the stay-at-home is aimed at disrupting the Prime Minister’s visit to the region.




In the same vein, there is panic in Bamenda ahead of the week-long visit to the city by Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Dion Ngute. Two separatist groups in the diaspora have failed to agree on the week-long lockdown. While the Ambazonia governing council under Ayaba Cho says “it must happen,” the Dr. Samuel Ikome Sako-led Interim Government, IG says “there should be no lockdown.”




Millions across the world remain in uncertainty after Social Media giant, Facebook crashes. Other platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram, affiliated to the platform have also crashed. The cause remains unknown, but many fervent users have been resorting to other social media platforms like Signal and Telegram. Facebook says, it is looking into the issue.




Militants of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Party, CPDM in Kribi have protested against their senator, Mba Gregoire. The CPDM senator allegedly brutalized two party members, who had opposed him within the party. This is not his first altercation with members of his party.



At least 15 Government school teachers are being held captive by Ambazonian fighters in Ndop for teaching despite calls for school boycott. They were kidnapped weeks ago, shortly after school resumption in September. To make matters worst, the SDO of Ndop meanwhile, has suspended salaries for all teachers, insisting they must resume pedagogic activities.


The Bamenda regional hospital has launched a 3-day free consultation for people dealing with psychological and psychiatric problems. According to the director of the hospital, Dr. Denis Nsame, the entire public is invited to consult for all mental health cases. The campaign is organized ahead of the world mental health day to be commemorated on October 10.
