Thousands of persons flooded travel agencies in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon this evening as people struggle to flee the town due to an announced two-week lockdown by Separatists. Children returning from school today informed their parents that they have been asked to resume classes only in October. Heavy shopping compared only to Christmas Eve was the atmosphere in markets across the town today.




Separatist fighters in Bambui have opened the Bambui – Kom road for the first time in two weeks. Commuters were happy to reach Bamenda today to get provisions.



Most parts of Nkwen, NWR of Cameroon today have been separated after a heavy rainfall caused the Mile 4 Bridge to overflow its banks. Movements were grounded as the city was split into two. Residents could only swim to cross over from Mile 3 to Mile 4.




Cameroon has dispatched its 8th peacekeeping military contingent to the Central African Republic, CAR. The soldiers are part of the UN Multi-dimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission meant to restore peace to the conflict-prone nation.


Cameroon’s Ministry of Secondary Education, MINESEC has instructed that its database be updated — one week into the new school year. The move is believed to control the availability of teachers at school especially those in the restive Anglophone regions of the country.




An abandoned newborn baby has been discovered at a trash site at Bessengue Station, Douala, commercial city of Cameroon. Investigations are ongoing to track its mother.




Cameroon has been beaten in the finals of the ongoing African Men’s Volleyball Championship taking place in Rwanda. They backed home silver today after being defeated by their Northern African rival, Tunisia.
