Death Of Nigerian Gospel Singer Sparks New Wave Of Awareness And Debate On Domestic Violence

The painful exit of Osinachi Nwachukwu, singer of “Ekueme” song which seemingly touched the hearts of millions across the world is making rounds not only on social media but within the christian (church) and other social circles.

Popular pastors, christians, promoters of social blogs and the common man have all endulged in a reawakening call against domestic violence and the option to “leave” when found in an abusive marriage. This ofcourse is happening after it is being confirmed that Osinachi died of domestic violence related assaults caused by her husband.

It is now being revealed that this woman for many years in her marriage did not have it going well with her husband but decided to cling unto the submission button as preached by a wide range of pastors. Immediately her death was announced, Popular gospel evangelists like Frank Edward and a host of gospel singers unleashed evidence of Osinachi’s marital ordeal and how she continued to submit to her abusive husband, hoping prayers would change situations someday.

Her music recorder (producer) also unveiled chats he had with the deceased evangelist on what she’s going through.
It has also been revealed that, Osinachi’s husband took control over her wife’s wealth and earnings from her music right to YouTube rights. Many pastors and organizers of crusades have revealed that Osinachi has on countless occasions not shown up at concerts on account that the husband didn’t okay such outing.

This (she confided in her close friends) happens when the organizers of those concerts fail to make advance payments to the abusive husband beside other flimsy reasons. Reasons why the singer had difficulties releasing more songs as highly expected after “eku-eme”.

According to the wave of debate sparked up by this pathetic ordeal, women, pastors and social critics across the board are now coming to terms with certain realities which boils down to “quitting” the marriage when it no longer works.
It could be described that Osinachi died due to her belief in submission to work for her someday. Unfortunately, experience has shown that those taking the lead in misrepresenting, misinterpreting and promoting SUBMISSION in marriage are those holding the Bible and standing on the pulpit.

Popular Nigerian preacher and wife to a Bishop Dr Pst Funke Felix-Adejumo in a live show has lashed out on men of God and wives of pastors to STOP encouraging people to stay in abusive marriages. “Submission does not mean Subjugation”….she said.

As we speak millions of women especially are going through hell and marital bondage but would prefer to endure and pray. Some end up quitting too late while some die of stress and trauma. Some continue to endure pain. Many have lost their God-given talents just because their abusive husbands won’t let them to exploit their potentials due to fear that the woman may become richer or tougher than him. There are also few cases of domestic violence on men.

Most of these victims stay in marriage with mere excuses that they would lose respect from the society, or being looked at as a moral failure. Some do think that they would have to stay for the sake of their children.
People who might have been of help would fear addressing the issue squarely because of fear of being labeled as spoilers or destroyers.

Osinachi’s case has proven that many people were aware but taking caution due to the singer’s high appetite for submissiveness.

It should be noted that most pastors today, have misrepresented, manipulated and misinterpreted the meaning of tithes giving, sowing of seeds, offerings, donation, prophecy, healing and deliverance etc…. all geared towards enriching the pastor (man of God, Daddy, Daddy G.O, General Overseer, Papa etc) while the poor christian follower continues to drain his resources to church and remaining in abject poverty. Some of them behave to christians as if they are the bridge to cross over to God.

In their attempt to keep you permanently enslaved to their whims and religiousity, they would use certain verses in the Bible and gradually cut you off from your families so as to gain permanent control over you. This is where you would mistakenly start seeing you family and friends as hinderance to your christ-likeness.
