The Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele has called for vigilance in the towns of Yaoundé, Douala, and Bafoussam.
His warnings, published in a press release dated October 1, 2021, comes after separatist fighters in the Anglophone Regions threatened to extend attacks to other parts of Cameroon.
In the press release, the police boss instructed civilians of these towns to collaborate with members of Cameroon’s Defense Forces to avert any such attacks.
Members of the Defense Forces now placed on high-security alert have been reminded to remain vigilant against any forms of infiltration from the secessionists amongst the population of these towns.
A mechanism to prevent the smuggling of arms within these towns has also been put in place by the defense forces.
