Desperate Widow Cries out Over Land Expropriation Attempts

63-year old widow, Ma Grace Tanjong, a resident in Buea Town, is at the crossroads of losing a parcel of land her husband left for her kids.

The said piece of land situated at the Great Soppo market has a land title bearing David Tanjong, deceased husband to the widow. In 2020, the Mayor of Buea, David Namange, pleaded with the family to use the piece of land as an extension market to decongest the main site, as measure to curb the spread of the covid-19 pandemic.

Reports say the Chief of Great Soppo, Etina Monono, authorized business mogul, Bony Dashako, to use the said peace of land for a profit making venture.

In spite following all legal procedures presenting authentic documents, it appears the Chief and Business man are bent on owning the land.

In his part, Chief Monono says the piece of land is a native land and he’s giving out to Bony Dashako so he can build a bank that will provide jobs for hundreds.

Already, Bony Dashako has placed pillers and set his arsenals for construction to commence.

Meanwhile, a court decision has placed an injunction order on the said parcel of land until all issues are resolved.

Land imbroglio in Buea is become unbearable in recent years. The restive situation prompted the MINCAF and CONAC, to open separate investigations to prove into the matter.
