Detained Journalist Paul Chouta’s residence bugled by unidentified individuals

In what seems like a successful attempt in a chain of several others failed, the home of detained web journalist Paul Chouta was yesterday Monday, November 9, 2020, broken into in the absence of his partner.

The buglers reportedly made away with a television, laptop, and other valuables.

According to testimony from an elderly woman who happens to be Paul Chouta’s neighbor, the robbers were well organized and cautious in their actions not to be taken unaware.

The woman explains that while the others were apparently breaking into Paul Chouta’s house, some were on the lookout at various entry points into the residence to make sure no one came into the house to surprise them in the act.

The lady also explains that one of them came to her door to make sure there was no one in the house. She said the spy got to her house in the guise of a cable man, knocking hard and asking for the door to be opened so he could check her TV images.

“One of them came to my door and knocked several times asking if there was anyone. When I asked who he was he said he had come to check the images on my TV. He told me he had checked for my neighbors and that he wanted to make sure mine too was ok. I told him I was not going to open the door but he insisted I open… when he insisted and I declined. He left,” she narrated.

After some moments, the elderly woman opened the door and went to keep the water bill at Chouta’s house. That was when she was met by another lady at the entrance of his residence with a baby.

The lady however managed to dissuade her from entering into the house area to drop the bill. It was only later, that Chouta’s spouse raised the alarm of her home being robbed, that the elderly woman connected the dots.

Several persons are of the opinion that the burglary was not a simple coincidence as just the detained Journalist’s house was subject to robbery despite other houses too being void of occupants.

Reports also reveal that some months ago, Paul Chouta’s partner was robbed and her phone taken away from her alongside her money. As it seems now, it may not be the last of such attacks upon Paul Chouta and his property and only intrinsic investigations may uncover the whole mafia.
