Do not destabilise the work Eto’o has done – Roger Milla tells CAF

Cameroonian football legend Roger Milla has rebuked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for announcing the launch of an investigation against Samuel Eto’o.

A few days ago, CAF announced intentions to investigate Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), over allegations of improper conduct.

The investigation, according to the football governing body, follows written statements from several Cameroonian football stakeholders alleging Eto’o’s engagement in several unethical and corrupt practices during his time as the president of FECAFOOT.

Reacting to CAF’s announcement, Roger Milla noted that the Confederation has no right to take such a decision.

In an interview with TV5 Monde, he said, “To me, they have no right. We are not playing in an African Cup or a National tournament. They cannot just come and carry out investigations in Cameroonian football.”

The football legend went on to emphasise that “I think they should not exaggerate. We don’t need investigations here. We had a good Championship this year, and we simply need to make it better next year, rather than trying to destabilise the work that has already been done.”

Meanwhile, a few days ago, the Union of Sports Movements (UMS) Loum applauded CAF for taking the decision against Samuel Eto’o.
