Donga Mantung: Military raids villages, leaves one person dead

The local population of the Fa’am village in the Nwa Subdivision in Donga Mantung have accused the military and the Fulani community of carrying out another deadly raid in the village.

At least one person has been confirmed dead from the attack which took place on May 24, 2022, sending shockwaves across the village.

“We have been in a terrible situation as we had no electricity and as such, couldn’t communicate with the outside world to report our plight,” explained a villager who told MMI that their pain was exacerbated by the fact that they could not communicate with the outside world as soon as the incident happened.

“It is much easier when our story is reported, because we know that at least someone might come to our aid. Lack of electricity has been a serious challenge,” another villager told MMI.

A majority of the villagers are believed to have abandoned their homes and fled to Nigeria when the gunmen attacked and wreaked untold havoc.

The sole deceased victim of this attack has been revealed to be Mr. Emma Jumson, a school head teacher.

The purpose behind the attack remains unclear to many as of today. There has equally been no public reaction from the authorities following this attack.

Mimi Mefo Info could not put up shocking images from the incident.
