A building under construction today collapsed under very unclear circumstances in the city of Douala. The 7-floor storey building was still undergoing active construction at its Bonanjo site before the incident.
The building was located around Marché des Fleurs, and has now been reduced to rubbles on the tons of flower bags that surrounded it.
The Governor of the Littoral Region, Samuel Ivaha Diboua upon getting the information rushed to the site of the incident to see things for himself and to assess the damage.
The firefighting unit has also been deployed to the site of the incident to begin searching for possible victims trapped in the rubble or dead. It is unclear if there were people in the building at the time of its collapse. For now no victim has been reported trapped or dead in the rubbles.
