Douala: Five killed by colapsed Building

Editor's note: In the early hours of Sunday, July 23, a structure collapsed behind Mobile Guinness Cité Sicam in Douala. Latest information from the site of the incident indicates that at least 25 people have been killed. Sources say the death toll could be more.

At least five persons have been confirmed dead after a building collapsed at a place known as Mobile Guinness in Douala, Littoral region of Cameroon.

The tragic incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, July 23, 2023, at about one o’clock.

According to information gathered by MMI, the building also injured several people. 

“Several people are still stuck there… the collapsed building had cracks long before today’s incident,” a source told MMI.

The elements of the police and the gendarmerie are on the spot to supervise the excavations which are still underway at the moment.
