Douala: Central African found dead with multiple stab wounds

A lady identified as Edith Flore Gbette has been found dead in a pool of blood. The lady of Central African origins was discovered in her room in Akwa district not far from the Consulate of the Central African Republic in Douala.

The body of Flore, reports say, was found with the door to her room open. Neighbours testify to hearing screams from her room the previous night, though no one cared to find out the reason for the screams, as she was believed to be in a heated argument with someone.

The victim’s lover, is said to have acknowledged speaking to her on phone the day before, and she said she was returning home. He says he tried reaching her by phone again at about 9PM to no avail, and kept trying for hours.

The next day, he visited Flore at home to check on her, but found her dead and lying in her own pool of blood. Security forces called to the scene are reported to have found 20 stab wounds on the body of the deceased, and have opened an investigation to track down the perpetrators of the act.
