Douala: Commercial motorbike driver, pregnant passenger crushed to death

A commercial motorbike driver and a pregnant passenger he was carrying have been crushed to death in Micheline, Douala, Littoral region of Cameroon.
The tragic incident occurred on Monday, July 17, 2023, around “Grand Hangar”.
Reports say the commercial bike was violently hit and crushed by a truck attempting to flee from the municipal police.
“The truck refused to comply. While fleeing, it overturned a motorcycle with its two passengers. The truck crushed the two passengers,” narrated a source.
The motorcycle taxi rider was later identified as a 28-year-old man from Mokolo in the Mayo Tsanaga division, Far North region.
Meanwhile, the identity of the pregnant woman remains unknown, as she was not in possession of an Identity Card.
The two bodies were deposited at the Mortuary of the Bonassama district hospital.
