Douala: Indomitable Lion, Gael Ondoa, says survived plane accident

Cameroon international footballer, Gael Ondoa, said he survived a plane accident May 27.

The player in a note on his Facebook page wrote that, he was on board a Turkish Arline plane that suffered a mishap as it touched down the Douala International Airport.

Ondoa wrote that: “Finally arrived on the land of the Indomitable Lions… not without a hitch”, adding that, “ I am alive despite the fact that the plane caught fire shortly before the crash landing in Douala. Thanks to the Turkish Airlines crew for their composure and professionalism.” He also thanked God for rescuing him.

According to Ondoa, “we will recover from our emotions and prepare for the rest, the best is yet to come.”

Ondoa is among the 23 players selected by the Indomitable Lion’s Caoch, Rigobert Song, for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier game against Burundi.

Despite the player’s details of what he said happened as he arrived Cameroon, the Turkish Airlines has not issued any statement in relation to such a mishap.
