Douala: Man stabs teenager over goat meat

Yesterday as muslims around the country celebrated the feast of the sacrifice, a man in his late 50s was arrested in Newbell, Douala for stabbing a 17-year-old boy to death.

The older man who is a specialist in slaughtering sheep was called to do what he usually does at the Newbell neighborhood. Performing this act for long time, his principle, he is known to always own the head and the feet of every sheep he slaughters.

It so happened that after the sheep had been slaughtered, this 17-year-old boy who was a part of the sharing insisted that he wanted the sheep’s head only.

As the teenager took the animal’s head and turned to go, the angry sheep slaughterer followed him from the back and stabbed the boy to death.

Witnesses say enraged onlookers and other participants in he sharing exercise quickly drew out their own knives to equally stab the man who had just killed the boy. It is claimed that the knives that used to attack the man mystically went blunt and couldn’t penetrate his skin.

Elements of the Newbell Gendarmerie came to the scene, arrested the killer and took him to the Gendarmerie where he was detained.

He was later transferred to the Bonanjo Judicial Police Station after inhabitants of Newbell threatened to break into the Gendarmerie and take him out for jungle Justice.
