Douala: Paul Biya orders immediate burial of deceased suspected separatists

The bodies of two suspected separatists have been interred at the Mekepe Cemetry in Douala early Friday, February 5, 2021.

A source has hinted that President Paul Biya ordered the immediate burial of the bodies of 26-year-old Youdin Eugene Tafili and Ndoua Tangeh Valentine.

Despite this, no official document authorising the burial of the suspects, without the consent of their respective families, has been made public.

Information indicates that the bodies were removed from the mortuary at the Douala General Hospital Bonamousadi in a state of decomposition.

The two succumbed to wounds sustained in the course of an improvised bomb explosion in their room at the Bepanda neighbourhood in Douala 5 in the Littoral Region of Cameroon .

On Sunday, January 31st, 2021, inhabitants of Bepanda got a deafening sound in the room of Youdin Tafili Eugene, identified as a student at the University of Douala.

Police investigation later revealed that the two were in possession of electronic and toxic materials for the fabrication of local explosives.

Both men originate from Balikumbat Subdivision in the North West Region of Cameroon.
