Despite the prohibition of classes, government has urged proprietors of private schools to pay teachers’ salaries for the month of March to enable them fend for their families back home.
Some proprietors have however chosen to go against the plea as some teachers are yet to get a single franc.
Some workers at the Amazing Grace Nursery and Primary School-Bonendale in Bonaberi, Douala say their institution is not left out.
“If they can’t pay the full amount needed to be paid, half should be given” a teacher pleads.
Many have called for other measures to be put in place to sustain teachers and others made to stay at home due to the preventive measures in the weeks ahead.
