Douala: Student kills mate with scissors over ‘expensive’ joke

The unfortunate incident happened on March 12, 2021 at the Government Bilingual High School PK21 in Douala.

Wellisiane Tsague is said to have killed fellow classmate Frank Tessop, all in Form 3. Testimonies say the issue all began as a mere joke between the pair.

Frank Tessop allegedly began by taking Wellisiane’s exercise book and was playing with it out of the classroom. She tried to retrieve her book in vain from Frank, before going out of herself to do so.

It is also said that Frank equally followed her back into the class and seized Welisiane’s piece of cloth and scissors she had. Still in the playful manner, she also retrieved them before throwing the scissors towards Frank, which then caught him deep into his chest causing the victim to fall instantly.

The victim was immediately taken to the school infirmary so that the bleeding could be stopped before he was taken to the hospital. He later on lost consciousness and consequently died before he could arrive the hospital.

The assailant was taken into custody by the police in Douala. The corpse of the deceased was also taken by the police for further investigations.
