Violent clashes were recorded earlier today morning between elements of Forces of Law and Order and some commercial bike riders in the city of Douala as the police embarked on a massive seizing of bikes due to nontax payments.
While the police were collecting taxes and seizing bikes from the bike riders, two of them resisted giving their bikes to the police, sparking a violent confrontation between them and police on duty.
Some other riders joined in the fight and the security agents had to call for reinforcement in order to overpower angry bike riders. Fortunately, reinforcements came in timely to quell the mounting tensions by dispersing them with teargas.
