Dozens arrested, allegedly tortured in Mamfe

Over a dozen persons from Mamfe in the South West region are allegedly being tortured by members of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR at an army camp in Ossing village.

The individuals were randomly arrested by the BIR who did so MMI is told “in the hope of catching some amba boys.”

“They are mostly IDPs from the villages there living in makeshift farm houses in the forest. They come to Ossing periodically to buy and sell food” a source reveals.

At the moment of this report, two of the arrested, women have been released.
