Dozens feared dead, houses razed in Pinyin near Santa

Dozens of persons have been reportedly killed in Pinyin in the North West region of Cameroon.

“Festus Awa, my gardener, has worked with me for 13 years, he was a nice man…he will be buried today. And without me! What a cruel world.” said a local whose family in Pinyin suffered a huge loss.

Reports say Pa Tamungang’s compound, a native of Pinyin was broken into and looted by soldiers. “Elder Tamungang Solomon’s store broken, Pa Isaiah Achu Tamungang’ store broken and his life saved only by the money he gave them and His Grace, Tamungang Ignatius Awah’s son’s money stolen and Pa Tamungang’s cousin’s house razed at Mitanyen,” a source added.

Several houses were also burnt to the ground as villagers ran to the bushes for safety.
