Dr. Mbah Proffers Solution To Cameroon’s Language Learning Woes In PhD Thesis

Based on the fallen standards of English language performance supported by statistics from the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board for over a decade and the need for an Innovation in the teaching and learning of English language as highlighted by a teachers survey report recently, a computer assisted instructional model (CAIM) for teaching especially of English language has been developed.

This model is an Innovation of a PhD Thesis recently defended by Mbah Emmanuel Teke in the University of Buea. According to Dr. Mbah, this model collects, designs and developes online lessons through the use of games, simulation, drills and audiovisuals.

To him, the testing process through various validation makes the model ready for use in secondary schools in Cameroon today. This model, he says, meets every learning purpose in both distance and open learning that is online and face to face platforms.
Dr Mbah maintains that the model provides prescriptive stages through which secondary school teachers can develop their CAIM based lessons, capable of meeting students varied needs ( auditory, Kinesthetics and visual).

The college of professors who stood in as jury, chaired by Prof. Emmanuel Tanyi of UB’s School of Engineering, the model fits in the learning context of a conflict stricken and health pandemics like the COVID-19, which has deprived students of physical classroom access.

CAIM is marketed by a Buea based start up: Teach_ Tech_ Connect and assist teachers and schools in the development and propagation of lessons through online platforms which is reachable through the email; teachtechconnect95@gmial.com and via the numbers 670027502 / 675813627
