Dreaded separatist ‘General’ killed in Momo division

Inhabitants of Mbengwi in Momo division, North West region of Cameroon are said to be celebrating following the death of a feared separatist leader.

Nicknamed General Idi Amin Dada, the separatist leader had come to be feared by locals as he is said to have ruled them with an iron fist.

General Idi was reportedly killed in a raid in Guneku by members of the elite force, Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR.

Though administrative authorities are yet to provide any details concerning the fighter’s death.

“… they felt threatened by his existence. He orchestrated numerous kidnaps and destruction of bridges among others,” says a source, comparing the late separatist fighter to another, Fonteh who was killed in Bamenda months back.

The said General Idi Amin Dada is one of several feared separatist leaders killed by the BIR in the past months as the four-year-armd conflict between the army and non state armed groups persists.
