East Region: Chinese miner opens fire on Cameroonian worker in Kette

The local population of Kette in the East Region are in absolute furry over an incident between a Chinese boss and a Cameroonian worker at a local mine in the region.

Following an exchange of words between the pair, the Chinese man pulled a gun and shot the Cameroonian worker at close range.

International N.G.O, Mandela Center International reveals that the shocking incident which occured precisely at the Kana mine on June 10, 2021 was due to the disgruntled worker demanding for his unpaid wages.

In the heat of the argument between the Chinese operator who goes by the name Hong and the worker called, Rostand Boutili, Mr Hong got infuriated by Boutili’s continuous demands, thereby opening fire on him at close range.

Mr Boutili had worked for several months with Mr. Hong before returning to demand for his salary of several months which had not yet been paid.

Soon after the incident with Mr Hong, the victim was immediately evacuated to the Bertoua regional hospital where he is being medically attended to.

The Mandela Center International say that the Chinese operator has now been arrested for his action and is currently being held at the premises of the Batouri Gendarmerie. The NGO also plans to file a complaint against Mr. Hong at the Bertoua Military Tribunal for attempted assassination.
