Easter: The suffering and death of Jesus Christ replicated by Mbelem, Bamessing Parish Christians

Christians of Mbelem and Bamessing Parishes in Cameroon’s North West Region, yesterday joined their Catholic faithful around the world to commemorate Good Friday by replaying the suffering and death of the savior Jesus Christ on the cross.

This yearly activity usually culminates in the celebration of Easter on Easter Sunday, the day Jesus is believed to have resurrected from the dead, body and soul for the salvation of mankind.

Commonly termed the Passion of the Christ, the replay of Jesus’ death starts with a commemoration of the Lord’s Supper, the last meal he had with his disciples, and ends with him dying on the cross.

These activities are a replay of real life events, Christians believe happened 2023 years ago.
