Ebolowa II Municipality Wins 2021 “Cleanest City” Award

The Municipality of Ebolowa II has received a distinction in Cameroon for being the cleanest municipality around the country.

The distinction included a cash prize of 100 Million FCFA handed over to the Municipality by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Celestine Ketcha Courtes.

The awards were handed over on October 4, 2021, on the occasion of the World Habitat Day, 35th Edition. Talking to Cameroon’s National Bilingual Daily Newspaper, Cameroon Tribune, the mayor of the municipality, Andre Thomas Bengon expressed his joy for his municipality being given the distinction.

“We are happy to have won this competition, but more especially for the population of our municipality who have invested heavily in making the city of Ebolowa very clean,” he said.

With the 100 million cash prize, the Ebolowa II Municipality won first prize, followed in second by Douala II, which won a sum of 85 Million FCFA, then Buea winning 75 Million FCFA, then Yaoundé V and Mokolo.
