The past days have seen residents of Bamenda in the North West Region and some parts of the South West region of Cameroon go without electricity.
Justifying the incident earlier, the lone electricity distribution company, ENEO says ” the recent service interruptions are as a result of an incident at the Bamenda Thermal Plant on 05/07/2020.”
“Since this occurrence, Eneo technical teams have been mobilized for repairs,” it adds.
The recent situation, the enterprise explains in the public notice, adds to other unresolved incidents on the transmission system, putting a severe strain on the electricity service.
” Eneo is working to reduce, as much as possible, the impact of the incident on customers. Eneo thanks her customers for being understanding, and will provide regular updates as the repairs go on,” it states.
Claiming to have resolved the issues, ENEO says the recent power outages that have led to load shedding in the affected areas is “as a result of unresolved transmission problems by Sonatrel”.
