Residents of Santa-Babara, Buea are spending their Seventh night in the dark after power cut Thursday October 4th.
Only this part of the town has been grounded, Mimi Mefo info has learned.
“We keep criss_crossing the main road to the other quarters to charge our phones and other gadgets” a Santa-Babara inhabitant told Mimi Mefo Info.
The affected population said the energy supply company, ENEO, was notified and they were told to wait for the Limbe Head office to inform Douala.
Meantime the people have continued to wallow in darkness with commercial and other activities grounded.
“The few technicians who came to do the inspection were asking the whole quarter to contribute money so that they can tap the light from another source. This is so because a popular bakery in the vicinity had to pay them for their line to be connected and it was done immediately…but we don’t have the means” he recounted.
Mimi Mefo Info contacted officials at The ENEO head office in Douala to find out how long the problem will last.
The communication unit said a transformer has to replaced and the fault will be rectified this Thursday.
Locals are hoping solutions will be provided today as announced.
