Media houses and journalists lack capacity and knowledge in these areas to warn the government, policy makers and the citizens on the dangers that the human beings impacts on the planet.

Organized by the Foundation for Environment and Development (FEDEV) under the auspices of the ministry of environment and nature protection and nature protection, Participants at the workshop are journalists, male and female from the ten regions of Cameroon draw from the public and private media houses are expected to be more environmentally conscious in their reporting, create a journalism network to ensure continues action in environmental reporting.

According to the organizers of the workshop, engaging the journalists and creating a community of practice after the workshop shall reverse the current state of climate change in the country as many people are not aware of the dangers of climate change, hence continually carryout actions poisonous to the environment, a situation that can be averted by purposeful environmental reporting.
