Epassy Launches Foundation to Promote Education for Children

Cameroonian International football goalkeeper Devis Epassy launched his foundation in Cameroon on Friday, September 16, 2023, in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic Education to promote the education of the most deprived children.

The Devis Epassy Foundation aims to provide educational support to children in need, including those from low-income families, orphans, and children with disabilities. The foundation will also work to promote sports and physical activity among children as well as raise awareness of the importance of education for sustainable development.
Devis’s foundation is a collaboration project with the Ministry of Basic Education received by Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa.

“I am pleased to announce the signing of the partnership agreement that now binds the EPASSY Foundation to the Ministry of Basic Education, represented by its illustrious Minister, Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi NGOA, whom I thank once again,” Epassy said.

Epassy says that he was motivated to start the foundation because of his own personal experiences growing up in poverty.

“The stars will now shine in the hearts of under-educated and vulnerable children, whom the Foundation will support by putting in place infrastructure to facilitate their education”. He added

Epassy went on to say that he believes that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.

“Education is the only way to give children the opportunity to reach their full potential. It is the only way to give them a chance to have a better life.”

Epassy’s foundation will start by providing educational support to children in Douala, Cameroon. However, the foundation plans to expand its reach to other parts of Cameroon and Africa in the future.

The Minister of Basic Education, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, praised Epassy for his commitment to education.

“Devis Epassy is a role model for young people everywhere,” Etoundi Ngoa said. “He has shown that it is possible to succeed in life, no matter where you come from. His foundation is a testament to his commitment to helping others.”

Epassy’s foundation is a welcome addition to the growing number of foundations and organizations that are working to promote education in Cameroon. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of education for sustainable development. He recently got married to his longtime girlfriend
