Equinoxe TV reporter, Jacques Molong dies in car accident

It is a sad day for the Equinoxe TV media house which has just lost one of its reporters, Jacques Molong.

The photojournalist died in car accident in Bangem, chief town of Kupe Muanenguba Division in the South-West Region of Cameroon, on Wednesday, May 3.

The pick-up vehicle that carried him and other journalists is reported to have suffered a brake failure before tumbling on the roadside.

The driver, who works with South West Development Authority, died on the spot, while Molong, who had suffered severe injuries, died at the Nkongsamba Regional Hospital.

A journalist and a cameraman working with CRTV South West got injured in the accident.

They are now in stable conditions, MMI has learned.

The journalists were returning from a tour to the Muanenguba Twin Lakes, a touristic site in Kupe Muanenguba Division, when the accident happened.

Three other people who were in the pickup survived the accident.

The incident devastated many, especially journalists, who were commemorating the 30th edition of World Press Freedom Day.
