Ernest Obama’s arrest: a story of treachery, abuse of power

Ernest Obama, Journalist at Vision 4 TV and the Anecdote Newspaper was arrested Thursday, June 18 in the most dramatic manner yet.

Currently detained at the dreaded State Defense Secretariat (Secrétariat d’État à la défense, SED) in Yaoundé, he is still to be formally charged.

Vision 4 TV has however revealed that Obama’s arrest stems from his treachery and breach of trust bestowed on him by Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga, head of Groupe L’ Anecdote.

Obama is said to have been working with the opposition in the Central African Republic to plot the ousting of President Faustin Archange Touadéra, a personal friend and business partner of his boss, Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga.

On another note, Vision 4 TV suggests that Ernest Obama had been plotting evil with highly placed “enemies” of Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga. The arrested journalist is said to have engaged in actions aimed at anonymously sabotaging the Anecdote boss through the social media and mainstream media, betraying the trust and confidence given him by Amougou Belinga, his boss.

According to Obama’s former employer, Ariane TV, the detained journalist was not very trustworthy. Although Amougou Belinga had this information, he took Obama under his wings and later appointed him Director General of Vision 4 TV – the first journalist to hold the position in the said media house.

The Anecdote boss used his influence and connection to introduce Ernest Obama to very high officials and personalities which included some Heads of State, prominent of whom was the Central African Republic’s President, H.E. Faustin Archange Touadéra. That was how he was introduced to Central African Republic’s prominent political figures, the epicentre from where his fallout with Amougou Belinga would emanate, Vision reported in it’s Saturday prime time newscast.

Ernest Obama is equally accused of leaking in-house information to social media activists that can help bring down the image of the media house and his boss. Perpetually playing a double game, Ernest Obama was virtually working against the media house where he worked.

Constantly flaunting aside the editorial policies of Vision 4 TV, to act upon what was going to be beneficial to him in the long run, reports suggest.
Ernest Obama owned and managed two newspaper houses which were financed almost entirely by the funds made available to him at the Groupe Anecdote, while at the same time using the utmost confidence placed on him by Amougou Belinga to negotiate business deals with the latter’s collaborators in his boss’ name even without informing him.

“Aware of this fact, Amougou Belinga does not hold it against him. He keeps his faith in the journalist still and high as before. He considers the journalist was just taking advantage of the opportunities presented to him as a smart person,” Vision 4 TV reports.

As the most trusted of the Groupe Anecdote boss, he was made Director General of Vision 4 TV, a position he used most certainly to undergo his personal objectives. Amougou Belinga trusted Obama to the point where he was included in all his foreign business trips as one of the officials of his personal corps.

While at the helm of the Vision 4, he was accused of embezzling funds from the Anecdote Groupe that was meant for the acquisition of equipment for the media house which he headed. The sum was revealed to be close to FCFA 100 million. The Group Anecdote boss despite this still placed his confidence in the journalist, with just some call ups from his boss to amend his ways, nothing further.

It all blew up in Ernest Obama’s face when Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga became aware of Ernest Obama’s conspiracy with opposition party members of the Central African Republic to overthrow his personal friend and ally, Faustin Archange Tuadera from power during the next presidential elections. This to Belinga was where he drew the line for the treacherous activities of the journalist which he had constantly overlooked.

Aware that his boss had discovered his dark scheme conspiracy in the Central African Republic, the journalist announced the publication of his book which was a tribute to the President of the Republic, H.E Paul Biya, praising his moral works and humanitarianism in Cameroon.

The book as announced by the incarcerated journalist was prefaced by the Central African President, Faustine Archange Tuadera and the director of Civil Cabinet at Cameroon’s Presidency, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo.

However, we are informed that neither personality is linked with the said publication. Despite his gimmicks to cloud the judgement of his Boss Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga, it was already too late for him to make amends. The boss’s mind was all made up; Ernest Obama was a traitor and has to go down.

The journalist, according to his boss, is guilty of high treason and breach of trust. The “most trusted son” of Amougou Belinga had been unmasked and this time, there was no turning back by the boss who then got Obama arrested.
