Billionaire businessman, Alhaji Baba Danpullo Ndawara, has been accused of being behind the unfortunate exit of HRH Kum Achuo ll, late traditional ruler of Esu,a village in Menchum division.
The accusation is contained in a letter making rounds on social media.
The letter is believed to have been written by ‘Youths of Esu All Over the World’.
Tittled ‘bitterness of Esu youth about the assassination of their King’, the letter chronicles alleged past attempts on the life of their Fon before his final ‘assassination’.
Fon KUM Achuo ll was killed on the 9th of March 2022 by unknown gunmen.
“we the the youths have observed multiple attempts by Alhadji Baba Danpullo to corrupt some misguided money minded, lazy youths in Ezu and some other bloody elite of the Kingdom. After failing to corrupt the King with blood,he tried to use force and it still didn’t work,so the only thing was to pay assassins to do the job”,the letter alleges in part.
Furthermore, the epistle alleged that since Danpullo came to Esu,many sons and daughters have been killed, crops and houses destroyed, many mothers and young girls raped by his agents.
Considering alleged crimes against them teleguided by the prominent business man,the young people ordered that he leaves their village as soon as possible.
On the other hand, a warning is sounded by the young men and women against plans to crown a new Fon under the alleged influence of Baba Danpullo.
“Also it has come to our attention that there are underground plans to install a new Fon who will be taking orders from Mr Danpullo and some corrupt elites from Esu,but we want to make it clear that no Fon will be forced in to rule the , Kingdom of Esu”, the letter emphasized.
The youth made it clear that it will take ten years for a new Fon to be crowned in Esu and Danpullo will never be needed.
It should be recalled that Esu has been in trouble with Alhadji Baba Danpullo over land issues for several years.
The regime’s lackey’s plans to grab much of Esu’s land for agro-investment met with stiff resistance from the Village’s authority under the tutelage of the immediate late Fon.The conflict generated several court battles plunging the village into camps made up of pro Ndawara and Pro-Fon supporters.
However the Fon retained much of his people’s support in the fight to protect their ancestral land.
MMI gathered that the late Fon was a good man who fought for his people and brought the much needed peace in the locality.
Close aides deny accusations
Our attempts to get Baba Danpullo react to the accusations were futile. However, we succeeded in having one of his close aides comment on the issue. Because the source wasn’t mandated to talk on the issue, he pleaded for anonymity.
The source was quick to label the accusations as baseless and unfounded. He said Baba Danpullo is unconnected with the killing of the Fon. The source insisted that Baba Danpullo maintained very closed relationship with the late Fon.
The source while declining to comment further on the issue because of its sensitive nature said, the people of Esu know what happened with their Fon and should stop pointing fingers at innocent people.
