Ex amba ‘General’ says life is in danger

Months back, former Ambazonia fighter, General Nambere was one of many refugees the Cameroon government presented as having returned from Nigeria.

Nambere and the likes of Success Nkongho later took to social media to castigate the struggle they once stood for.

The past days have however proven not to be as glorious for him, as media reports show him panicking for his life.

According to reports by The Voice, the ex general who is taking refuge in a hotel in the capital, Yaoundé, said “some of my fellow combatants are just defending their own interests.”

“It has become a business. They take the properties, settle there, take the women. Some have up to 15, 20 wives The soldiers kill and the combatants kill” the Voice quotes him saying.

“As I speak to you my life is in danger. And I’m not getting any help from this side from the authorities. I risk my life. Everything can happen. I keep machetes under my bed. I can only rely on me for my safety” the site quotes him further.

Following the creation of disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration, DDR centers by government, several alleged Ambazonian fighters have dropped their weapons.

Some have however since complained about their safety, with some being killed after dropping their weapons.
