Expert Investigation into Kumba massacre on course

For days now, intelligence services have been in Kumba, Meme division in the South West region of Cameroon.

A source at the security service has hinted Mimi Mefo Info that “…the team is gathering credible facts concerning the killing of seven students at Mother Francisca international Memorial Academy Fiango Kumba”.

How credible can this investigation be when government has earlier attributed the killings on separatist fighters?

That is the unanswered question inhabitants of Kumba have been asking.

Unconfirmed sources have noted that arbitrary arrest and detention of suspected persons is frequent in Kumba and other parts of Meme Division.

At the same time, the minister of defence, head of the gendamerie service and delegate general in charge of national security are in Kumba in the South West region of Cameroon today Monday November 9th 2020.

The inter ministerial delegation headed by minister Joseph Beti Asomo is to visit the crime scene and hold security meetings with officials in Kumba.

This comes after PM Joseph Dion Ngute presided over the funeral service of the seven students slained on the 24th of October.
