Fake soldier and his robbery gang arrested in Yaoundé

A fake soldier by name Milo Pierre has been apprehended alongside a gang of armed robbers, some of who were dressed in military uniform in Yaoundé, Centre Region of Cameroon.

The gang was apprehended by the elements of the territorial gendarmerie of Mfoundi on June 26, 2022.

It is reported that the gang intended to rob a micro-finance bank when the plan was leaked, leading to their arrest.

Lt. Col. Parfait Ayessi of the territorial gendarmerie of Mfoundi while addressing the press, urged the population to be more vigilant and conscious while dealing with suspicious military officials.

“We call on the population to notify us when they happen to meet someone who presents himself as a military official but portrays a questionable behaviour,” Lt. Col. Ayessi said.

The suspects were apprehended with dangerous weapons including guns.

Amongst the gang members was a young man who had been released from jail barely few days prior to the arrest.
