Far North: Huge material loss incurred as large fuel depot goes up in flames

A fire outbreak in a large fuel depot in Kousséri, a town in the Far North region of Cameroon resulted in huge material loss.

The fire broke out on the afternoon of Friday, May 5, 2023, while several personnel were on duty. Fuel shops were reduced to ashes as a result of the inferno.

“As soon as they arrived on the scene, the emergency services of the 402nd Kousséri Fire Company were able to rescue houses located not far from the depot,” revealed an MMI source.

Despite the intensity of the fire, the firefighters successfully put out the fire within the space of 5 hours.

According to sources, hundreds of millions were lost in the fire outbreak. However, no life was lost.
