FECAFOOT: Unisport de Bafang President summoned by ethics commission for criticizing Eto’o Fils

By M.K

Mr Donald Ngameni, president of Unisport de Bafang football club is awaited before the ethics commission of Cameroon’s Football Federation (FECAFOOT) following a summon he received for allegedly criticizing the FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto’o Fils publicly.

The club president lashed out at the leadership of the federation, after making a series of claims following Unisport de Bafang’s controversial clash against Dynamo FC de Douala on April 26, 2023.

Given the catastrophic display by the game officials on the day, Donald Ngameni angrily told the press “we are merely participants in this championship, I fear no one and I will say what I feel is right and no one can do anything about it. What we are witnessing in this championship needs to stop,” he lashed out.

The president seemed to accuse the league leadership of having chosen beforehand which teams were going to be promoted to the first division even before the kick of the ball.

“We all have invested heavily into this league, teams cannot be handpicked for promotion to the first division randomly, we would not let this happen.” President Donald Ngameni added.

He further claimed that such disorder is emanating from the helm of the league leadership, suggesting that some sort of compromise has been struck by some teams and the leadership in the backgrounds.

“Rumours had already been spread of the potential teams that were going to be promoted, and from the look of things, it’s all falling into place. Is this what is of Samuel Eto’o Fils’ League? I feel shame and pity for Cameroon. We are gradually moving into the mud.” He spewed out.

His remarks and claims were met with disdain, and he is expected to appear before the ethics commission next week and answer to his claims.
