East Region to host next edition of FENASSCO A Games

The town of Abong Mbang, in the Upper Nyong Division of the East Region, has been chosen as the venue for the 25th edition of the National FENASSCO League A Games next year.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Secondary Education, Pauline Nalova Lyonga, during the closing ceremony of the 24th edition held in Limbe, South West Region.

The revelation sparked jubilation among the athletes representing the East Region, who eagerly anticipate the opportunity to showcase their talents on home soil.

Minister Lyonga’s announcement was met with particular excitement by Joseph Le, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, who hails from the East Region.

Before Limbe, Mvomeka’a, in the South Region, and Garoua in the North Region, had played host to the 22nd and 23rd editions, respectively.

The handover of the Olympic flag from Minister Nalova Lyonga to Minister Joseph Le symbolized the official designation of Abong Mbang as the host city for the upcoming event, marking the commencement of preparations for what promises to be a memorable edition of the FENASSCO League A Games.

“This was the best FENASSCO ever held so far,” Minister Nalova said, as she urged the various athletic clubs to match with the Olympic flames to glory.

She urged participating athletic clubs to strive for excellence and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship as they vie for glory in the upcoming competition.

The closing ceremony featured a thrilling football match that saw the East Region emerge victorious over the Center Region.

The Center Region received the general special prize for the best performance at the games, while the North West, Littoral, and West Regions were honored for the most civic delegations.

Notable individuals, including members of the organizing committee, cooks, and contributors to the construction of the Olympic monument at Government High School Mokundange in Limbe, were also recognized for their valuable contributions.

South West Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai was commended for his efforts in ensuring peace and security during the FENASSCO period.
