World football governing body, FIFA has decided to step in to the tussle between the Cameroon Professional Football League, LFPC and FECAFOOT.
FIFA has scheduled consultation talks today Monday, 9th September, 2020 between the two bodies that are currently in conflict over the management of the Cameroon Professional Championship.
An announcement of the talks was given out by FIFA in a correspondence on November 7, 2020 addressed to the Secretary General of the Cameroon Football Federation. The consultations are expected to be held via video conference beginning from 11am.
During the talks, FIFA will be represented by Congolese born Verone Mosengo-Omba, assisted by his collaborators Rolf Tanner, Sarah Sole mate and Laura Pelli. FECAFOOT meanwhile will be represented by its president, Seidou Mbombo Njoya and the Secretary General, Benjamin Banlock. The LFPC will be represented by its president, General Pierre Semengue.
The organizers of the talks, FIFA have argued that via the talks, they will have a proper understanding of the situation and hence be best placed to make resounding recommendations to FECAFOOT on solid legal basis. Professional football in Cameroon meanwhile has been plunged into a stalemate as confusion looms on who’s agenda and calendar to follow.
