Fire devastates apartment house in Garoua

A violent fire on Friday night ripped through an apartment house in the Djamboutou district of Garoua, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

The incident occurred in the Collège Protestantant area of the district, with authorities mobilizing emergency services to contain the blaze.

The personnel of the 301st Fire Company of Garoua said they received an alert regarding the apartment fire at around 9:15 pm.

Upon arrival, they found three rooms engulfed in flames, with the fire threatening to spread to neighboring houses.

Quick action by the emergency services helped bring the fire under control before it could cause further damage.

Despite the professionalism displayed by the firefighters, significant material damage was reported, although there were no human casualties.

Incidents like this are common in Cameroon, with poor electricity connection and power fluctuations causing many.

However, the cause of the Djamboutou fire is yet to be determined.
