Five Cheat Death in Ghastly Yaounde-Douala Road Accident

Five persons are currently receiving treatment after surviving a ghastly road accident along the Yaoundé-Douala highway yesterday evening (22/02/2022).

The accident which involved a Jeep with several passengers happened around Pouma, some kilometers away from Edea in the Littoral Region of Cameroon.

Witnesses blamed it on the recklessness of the driver, and excessive speeding.

“… He was trying to overtake several trucks in front of him,” a witness told MMI.

“When he realized another was coming in front of him, he forced himself to the back of another truck.” He added.

One of the passengers involved in the accident admitted the driver was being very reckless and was asked to slow down on several occasions.

The accident is said to have caused a serious hold-up on the highway for close to 1 hour 30 minutes.

The five injured passengers were immediately transferred to the Edea District Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.

One of them is believed to be in a critical condition.
