Five killed in Bui as soldiers raid village

Five young men have been shot dead in Bamdzeng, a village near Kumbo in the Bui division of the North West region. This was during a raid in the village by the Cameroon army.

Of the victims, some are believed to be suspected separatist fighters in the area.

“Three of them are fighters … While two of them are civilians” a source tells us.

He adds that “the military burnt down the house of Mr Sule who is a Shepard of the Bishop of Kumbo, looking after the Bishop sheep’s and cows.”

Riba, a neighboring village is also in chaos as gunshots are heard in the village.

Our source says “… there is serious shooting going on now in Riba a village next to Bamdzeng between the military and the Ambas.” Barely three and a half kilometers from Kumbo central town, Riba is one of many villages that has been the scene of battle between separatist fighters and soldiers.
