Football: After UMS Loum, Amateur Football Club Presidents demand Eto’o’s resignation

The Association of Cameroon Amateur football clubs, ACFAC has requested the resignation of Samuel Eto’o Fils as president of the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot.

In a communique made public office recently, the Association chided Eto’o for high-handedness.

Among the reasons highlighted by the Association is the” exclusion from competitions without valid reasons, of certain clubs, lack of transparency and objectivity in the choice of national team coaches and players in all categories and the signing of a sponsorship contract between the President of FECAFOOT and a sports betting company,”.

According to the Association, there had been a manipulation of match results for the benefit of certain individuals within FECAFOOT “who do not hesitate to bet on the results of the matches they organize”.

In this light, they have called for the, “… resignation with immediate effect of Mr. Samuel Eto’o Fils from the position of President of FECAFOOT if he still loves Cameroonian football as he has always claimed,”.

The club took the decisions during an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Board of the Association held on July 5.

Their request comes shortly after that of UMS of Loum Football Club.

The leadership of the club had equally called on a six-year suspension of the current president of Fecafoot.
