Footballer who fought and tackled a policeman apologizes to Paul Biya

A football player, who has been identified as Vivien Frederic Koloto, has written a public apology to President Paul Biya, after he fought and swept to the ground, a police officer in a video captured last week.

An apology note bearing his name surfaced on social media on Thursday, May 11, in which he begged forgiveness from President Paul Biya, the Delegate for National Security Martin Mbarga Nguele, Territorial Administration Minister Paul Atanga Nji, the entire police and gendarme Corp in Cameroon.

“I apologize to papa Paul Biya, papa Mbarga Nguele, papa Atanga Nji, to the President of FECAFOOT Samuel Eto’o,” part of his message read.

In the handwritten note, the young man named Vivien Frederic Koloto, aged 18, apologized to the police, national gendarmerie and to Cameroonians as a whole for what he he did.

He promised never to do it again but to “continue to serve the Green – Red – Yellow like the Cameroon police”.

“This wi never happen again, I promise,” he wrote.

The Dragon FC player, last week, swept to the ground a police officer during and argument at Lycee Leclerc in Yaounde.

A video of the action went viral on social media platforms, also sparking diverse reactions.
