French President declares intentions to diversify cooperation ties with Cameroon



French President, Emmanuel Macron has indicated his intentions to diversify Cooperation between France and Cameroon.

He made the disclosure during an adress on July 26, at the Unity Palace.



The French leader was speaking at a joint press conference with Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya.

Emmanuel Macron indicated that he desires to diversify what he has termed “Exceptional Cooperation” between the two countries.



“I wish we could diversify this Cooperation beyond the huge infrastructures and commodities. That we could look into the agricultural domain, digital training, creative cultural industry, and sports”he stated.

According to him, investing in Cameroon’s agricultural sector is nothing new but simply a way of reinforcing it and as well resolving the ongoing food crisis.

He indicated that “.. our common priorities have made Cameroon one of the first partners of the French Development Agency, ”


According to him, the French agency for development has financed projects worth 2 billion euros within the last 10 years and has equally established about 200 French companies present in the country today.

He went further to express his desire to reinforce the defense security in Cameroon indicating that the reinforcement will help to fight against terrorism which has plagued the Lake Chad Basin.
