Fresh clashes between Arab Chois, Mousgoums leaves several dead

Close to six months after relative peace was established between the Arab Chois and Mousgoums in the Far North region of Cameroon, both communities have again reignited their bloody feud.

This time, the incident occurred in Njamena, capital of neighboring Chad on May 23, 2022.

The same communities which stretch across the border are said to have engaged in a bloody exchange leading to many deaths.

Reports say the carnage was only stopped upon the intervention of the forces of law and order.

In the meantime, the exact casualties and the extent of injuries recorded remains unascertained.

It should be recalled that Minister Paul Atanga Nji had led a delegation to the Far North late last year after similar clashes erupted.

The violence had caused many deaths with several persons displaced.
