Gambian referee, Gassama Bakary to officiate at the Qatar World Cup



Gassama Bakary has been selected amongst the 36 referee to officiate the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar.

The list published yesterday May 19 featured 36 referees, 24 video match officials and 69 assistant players.



Gassama Bakary was lately accused by the Algerians of fraud after a match between Cameroon and Algeria, which saw Algeria’s defeat.

He was however, later declared innocent of all allegations, by the FIFA referees committee.



This, according to reports will be his third time of officiating the World Cup after Officiating in Brazil and Russia, in 2014 and 2018 respectively.
