Reports say Gendarmerie officials will, tomorrow March 9, be searching the headquarters of Vision 4 television, one of the many business establishments of Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga, who is behind bars in connection with the murder of journalist Martinez Zogo.
The search, however, has nothing to do with ongoing investigations into the Martinez Zogo case, activist Boris Bertolt said.
MMI learned the search on Vision 4 has been ordered by the Head of the Judicial Research Department of the Gendarmerie, who, in a communique, has called on the Director of Vision 4 to facilitate the investigation.
This will be coming five days after Amougou Belinga was officially charged for complicity in the torture of journalist Martinez Zogo.
The media mogul was moved to the Yaounde Central Prison alongside over a dozen other suspects on March 4, nearly one month after he was arrested and kept in preliminary detention.
It is likely that the murder of Martinez Zogo and the ongoing investigations on the case has triggered other case files to be opened.
Before he was abducted and gruesomely murdered, Martinez Zogo had been investigating embezzlement allegations against Amougou Belinga and Vision 4 television.
