Gendarmes capture burglars in Nkongsamba after three-day operation

Some seven bandits have been apprehended by elements of The National Gendarmerie in Nkongsamba, Littoral region.

The culprits who are currently under custody at the research unit of the National Gendarmerie, are accused of having broken into several houses in Nkongsamba, making away with valuables, and money.

During an open presentation at the Research Unit of the National Gendarmerie, valuables like phones, pots, fans, electric irons, laptops, TV sets, and building materials like zinc were among some of the already visibly retrieved items believed to have been stolen by the said gang.

According to the Research Unit commander, Otabela Merlin, the arrest came after a three-day operation, owing to some earlier complaints, notably that of a woman who complained of haven lost building materials similarly.

While presenting the culprits aged between 21 and 34 years, some buyers of the stolen items were as well captured and presented to the population.

In the meantime, the inhabitants of Nkongsamba have expressed satisfaction and relief. They salute the work of the Gendarmerie, adding that the efforts have given hope of a peaceful end-of-year feast.

Meanwhile, the elements of the National Gendarmerie have called on the population to fully collaborate with their agenda, promising to investigate the issue to retrieve more of the stolen items, which will be returned to owners upon identification.
