The arrest was made in the weekend, Saturday May 13, 2023 in the Douala IV sub-division. The group was headed by 32-year-old Clovis Max, reported to be a citizen of the Central African Republic according to Cameroon News Agency (CNA), and with him were equally Mambingo Martial, and a certain Ekome Nteh Didier.
The group of three suspects have been accused of multiple counts of armed robbery, and illegal human bones trafficking.
Speaking to the press, Lieutenant Ngrewui Adolphe, the chief of Bureau in charge of the fight against crime in the littoral region said they were “…hinted that one of them was preparing his automatic pistol for a robbery operation. We then hunted him down in a motel and brought him in for questioning…”
The lieutenant further revealed that it was in the course of interrogation that the suspect admitted to possessing human bones in his house in Douala.
Security personnel proceeded to a thorough search of his Douala résidence, followed by another search in his home in Buea, South West region, where more arms were equally found and retrieved.
His accomplices were equally arrested after he blew out their identities and their criminal activities.
